Boerewors Ouma Beef and Pork, 3 x 2lb
Boerewors Ouman Thick Beef and Pork
- BOEREWORS RECIPE: South African expats take note! Our Boerewors is a mix of Angus beef and Duroc pork, seasoned with white wine vinegar, French gray sea salt, toasted coriander seeds, black pepper, nutmeg, and cloves. We stuffed this tasty mixture into natural pork casings to make one pound coils which are perfect for the grill.
- ALL NATURAL MEAT: All of our products are made only with meats raised on an all-vegetarian diet, and without antibiotics or growth hormones
- PRODUCED IN SMALL BATCHES: We use high quality meats, many locally sourced. We use the freshest spices, herbs and seasonal blends designed to bring out unique, complex, yet subtle flavors.
- HOW TO COOK: The best and easiest way we have found is to thaw the sausages in the fridge overnight, or put the unopened frozen package in a bowl of cold tap water for 5-10 minutes. Once thawed, put the sausages in the oven at 350ºF, cook for 7 minutes on one side and then another 7 minutes after flipping the sausages over.
- SAFELY SHIPPED: The insulated shippers, dry ice and ice packs that we use are not necessarily intended to keep the products frozen for their whole journey to you; just to keep them cold and always safe so that they don't rise above a temperature where spoilage begins. Because we don't use any chemical preservatives in our fresh sausages, they should be stored in the freezer until ready to cook. They will keep for about 5 days in the refrigerator after thawing.

History: The idea to supply South Africans, with their favorite products, started with Nico Odendaal. As a frequent traveler and International Captain for the South African Airlines, Nico realized the need for familiar goods from 'home', as he was often overwhelmed to fly over with 'something'
The demand for Ouma Rusks, "5 Roses" tea or Iwisa (pap) soon filled his travel luggage, which led him to eventually start a store in the USA. This store soon added locally produces Boerewors, Biltong and Droëwors, made with spices, shipped from SA
South African Emporium, embodies all of South Africa, through the continued hard work and dedication of both Nico and Magda Odendaal, and from its new location at Satellite Blvd in Buford, close to the great Mall of Georgia!.
